Ada Lil Torres, Esq.

Ms. Torres directs the firm’s legal associates and advisors and oversees the day to day operations.  She also guides business development and client relations, setting overall strategic direction for the practice.  Ms. Torres has broad experience serving clients in a variety of industries, both national and international in scope.  She has worked with every size client firm, from start-up venture to large multi-national corporations.

 

Ms. Torres is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She provides pro bono legal consultation services to several non-profit organizations and is frequently a guest speaker at church and community forums in matters of immigration. Before hanging her shingle, Ms. Torres honed her craft and practiced Immigration Law with seasoned veteran attorneys in Brooklyn NY. Ms. Torres also has extensive in-court experience litigating on behalf immigrants facing deportation as well as on behalf of NYC tenants in Landlord Tenant disputes working as a Staff Attorney for Goddard Riverside Community Center.

 

Ms. Torres has always been active in her community. In 1995, she spearheaded a Neighborhood Watch program in conjunction with the Hackensack Police Department. The Neighborhood Watch emphasized safety and was a mechanism for neighbors to meet each other and for very vital community relations between residents and the police.  Ms. Torres has been a volunteer for coach soccer and baseball with the recreation programs in Hackensack and was President of the PTA at Fairmount Elementary School from 2009 until 2011. She was awarded Lifetime PTA Membership in June 2012. In 2009, she took part and completed the Hackensack Citizens Police Academy. She has participated in several Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training (TNT) endurance events while helping to raise money for the research and cure of blood cancers. Ms. Torres is an active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in River Edge, NJ and is a member of the Chancel Choir. She also serves as a Trustee for Project Literacy of Bergen County, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing, supporting and promoting the expansion of adult literacy in Bergen County.

 

Ms. Torres earned her Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law. She is admitted to practice in NY, NJ & the Supreme Court of the United States. Ms. Torres completed her B.A. at Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY and as an undergraduate participated in study abroad programs in Paris, France and Salamanca, Spain. She is fluent in English, Spanish and proficient in French.
